I put up an HDTV antenna on mom's roof. Works pretty good, way out here about 20 miles East of Cincinnati--I can get some Dayton stations, about 100 miles away, even. Wasn't too expensive. I just got a galvanized Steel Hanger Strap (3/4", 25 foot) to fasten a pole to the chimney. I tore an old Pole Saw apart to use the pole to mount it on. I had to seal the antenna connection, where the coaxial goes in; but, you just need a thick enough bead. I got stuck after that, though.
You're supposed to ground coax cables. It's a 75' coax cable, from the antenna on the roof, to the garage. There was already a "Grounding Block" mounted in the garage, between cinder blocks https://plus.google.com/photos/102701809384894713256/albums/6161358112145263233 . The mounting holes are pretty tiny, though, and I can't find a Masonry Bit small enough. They only go down to 1/8", as far as I know. Does anyone know where I can find a Masonry Bit smaller than 1/8"? I'd like to try to drill through the mortar, between cinderblocks.
