How do you find a Snap-On dealer in your area? I’m just a mom whose teenager wants a particular tool that only snap-on makes. I called an 800 number and the customer service rep acted like I could buy it over the phone but wouldn’t give me any franchisee info to buy it from a dealer. This made no sense to me and seemed slimy. Anyway, how can I locate a Snap-on dealer in the Finger Lakes Region of New York?

That’s the number I called. They wouldn’t give me any franchise info, but I could buy from them directly. My teenager wants to support a local business. That or local car dealership or body shop would probably know. You can order online but they charge you for shipping if order isn't over a certain threshold (want to say $250). Local dealer "may" give you a discount if you pay in cash or tell them its for your kid's school. Ebay is hit or miss.
Also if you happen to see a truck stopped at a local place just stop by. Driver may be on truck or in the shop area they are usually fine with random people stopping for tools or warranty. You can even wave to a driver if he's on road and he'll probably pull over for you. Been there done that lol...

Small orders from corporate have huge shipping costs. I need a particular specialty socket and SO is about the only people that have them. Socket is 21$, and shipping is quoted as 28$.

Also, where do you have your car serviced? Especially if they know you, maybe just stop in and ask those people when snap-on stops by or if anyone has the contact information for the snap-on guy who comes to their shop.
