In one of Dan Holohan's books it says you can locate hydronic lines in the floor when the heat is on by mopping some water on the floor and you'll see a line over the tube where it drys first. Anybody tried that? Might come in handy when you want to anchor something down, rather than trying to drill while you keep your fingers crossed and hope you don't hit anything:eek:

Infrared temp gun works also, probably a bit quicker. I can see a couple degrees difference with mine by sweeping over the tubes.

My uncle pumped ice water thru his system when he had to find his pipes. It worked good. I would also go to church the Sunday before I drilled into the floor :)

I have seen the wet floor trick work.
But lots of PICs, from different angles, before the pour is a real good idea.
