Finding replacement drawer and slides for older crafstman box

Hi there,

I recently upgraded my toolbox from an older craftsman model to snap-on that I got from a friend for a smoking deal. I am passing my old box on to my father and it is missing one of the drawers on the right side from a previous modification. After calling craftsman and waterloo, neither parts are available from them so I was hoping you guys might know of a source or have some bright ideas.

The sticker on the inside of the box says

"Sears E7A-07
706.651593
47332"

I've tried googling for a while to no avail. Amazon lists replacement slides here but I have no idea if they are compatible.

Helllllppp!

Pic of old box vs new box because who doesn't like pictures.

I have no source for you but I can tell you that Waterloo made those boxes for a lot of companies. I have a Dayton branded Waterloo box and the drawers will interchange with my Craftsman. The cosmetics are often different. The Dayton has pull handles and the Craftsman has the top edge grip. Even the side panels are reversed, with the sheet metal on the outside of the box frame instead of the inside. If you find the slides on Amazon, what are you going to use for a drawer? If you have the drawer, you might consider just buying some off the shelf slides and making them fit. The variety available is endless.

That is good to know. I've been scouring ebay trying to find replacement parts but it isn't as easy as I had hoped.

As for the slides, I figured we might be able to make some universal slides work, but would be nice if we could find all original parts.

The drawer that is missing is A14547A3-DCG, Roughly 12 3/4" W x 3" H x 17 1/2" D

I also 8know that Waterloo is pretty useless. They claim to stock touch up paint but even with the model number and a picture of the box, they could not identify it. They do have have the clips that keep the drawer on the slide. In the newer models they did away with the clip and bend out a piece of the sheet metal for a drawer stop. What junk. I don't see those part numbers doing you any good. As you found out, neither Sears nor Waterloo take parts support seriously. I think you will have to make the drawer out of sheet metal or plywood and buy slides unless you can find a donor box on Craigs list. Good luck.

Based on your Model Number I found this:

http://www.searspartsdirect.com/part-number/T14009A2/0009/706.html

I order some slides to fix an older box from these guys and they were perfect.
Good find. I spent a lot of time cleaning up a very rusty one. From the application list it looks like it works top and bottom. That seems strange. I would think the bottom one would be longer. I will have to measure. I never dreamed that would still be available.

These guys are Sears parts department. If they have it, Waterloo probably does too.

Sears sold the "Professional Series" rolling toolboxes for years, at least 60 or 70 different size/type models. Unknown how many thousands might be around. Just try to get a part for one of them, You get the message 'Sorry that part is no longer available and a redirect to buy new from Sears.com. They don't even back up one of their flagship brands? No wonder they are bleeding millions. Have been a Sears customer for over fifty years. Disappointed

I actually have that same box. One of the slides was bent when I got it. I went to lowes and I belive it was an 18 inch or 16 inch ball bearing drawer slide and it was a perfect fit. No modification needed.
