So a little while ago I made a thread about building a slab in my driveway so I can work on my Model A in the driveway or do car repairs without having to crawl around in the gravel. I hate gravel. A lot.
Anyway, I had it excavated, I leveled it out and put down concrete brick pieces and nice strong cattle fencing. I did an 18'x24'x4" pad.
I chose the cattle fencing after much debate on another thread I started. http://garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=327998 The cost was $175 after Tractor Supply Company. The fencing from Home Depot was really weak and wimpy looking.
Tractor Supply:
Home Depot:
The panels ended up being 16'x50". I used seven total in my grid.
Then we poured the concrete and smoothed (I was working on it and my Dad has those photos). Here's the finished project!
Here it is in use with the Model A sitting on it (along with a bunch of other ****)
.
Needless to say, I'm quite pleased with it and happy that I no longer have to crawl in the gravel and that I don't have to drag stuff in and out over the gravel.
