Finished Epoxy Coat!

Well after months of fighting this I finally am finished with doing the Epoxy Coat. We had a rough pour from a contractor who did not get it finished properly. I had him diamond grind the floor but still had rough patches that needed filled.

I had a couple of helpers come out and the 3 of us covered the 30x40 workshop with epoxy coat. We pressure washed it on Friday and letting it dry Saturday AM we started working. We used 4 kits of the beige color so it is pretty thick covering. It was about 60 degrees and we no problem with the floor curing too fast. The hardest part was trying to figure out how thick to roll it and how thick to throw the flakes. I got alittle heavy in the first area. It took about an hour and a half to completely finish. It filled in the divots and pits really nice. Its not a perfect showroom but I wasnt expecting it to be. But it is alot better than when we started. The only thing I wish is that I had ordered more flakes.

I noticed afterwards I had some bubbles I popped them with a leaf blower. You can see the before and after pics below.

Thanks
Daniel

It looks really good. What technique did you use to throw the flakes? Also did you fill the cement joints? If so with what product?

Daniel,

Good job. I just purchased the same color, beige, from E-C.

I noticed a nice shine on your finish. Did you apply the clear coat too?

Thanks.

No clear coat I was really surprised by the shine of the floor.

We didnt do so hot with the flakes. We where throwing them up in the air but didnt get it as even as I had hoped. We also used a leaf blower to throw the flakes further than I could throw. That worked pretty good.

I had small spot under where I park that is really light. I didnt notice it until I opened the door to the building for the first time. I havent decided if I want to try to touch up the spot or just ignore it.

Re: Flaking concrete

I had a concrete slab 40x74 poured last week. Temps were in 70 range. Next day after pour, noted some cracks and flaking to top layer. What to do?
