I moved into a new house that had a nice shop, but it was carpeted and being used as a game room. Story about removing carpet, glue and prep here: http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=19794
I used the Benjamin Moore Industrial coating, M36 High Gloss epoxy. I put it on pretty thick, at about the 150 gallon / sq ft recommendation. I used an 18" roller with a paint brush for the sides. I ran the A/C in the garage, working in about 76 degrees instead of the 100 it has been outside (wearing a mask for the fumes).
After the first coat dried: I noticed spots where there were "blemishes from contaminates in the concrete, similiar to "Fish eye". My favorite was the bubbles - probably about 20 or so, about 1/2 inch high. They formed over pores in the concrete, my guess is that when i opened the garage to air out when i was done (but not right after, i gave it time to cure some), the temp rose and the gas in the concrete expanded and blew epoxy bubbles. Kind of cute, i trimed them with a razor blade
Next day did the second coat, it went on great. No bubbles this time. I left the garage open to air out over night, and had a lot of mosquito's come in the hang out. They decided to stick around, along with a gecko (i hope he saved some money on his life insurance).
This is going to be a "working garage" and i am not overally concerned with blemishes in the finish - i just want it to work.
