Finished my tool cart!

Found this thing at work a while back and thought it would be fun to clean it up and use it as a tool cart in my garage. The paint was gone and the casters were wasted so I busted out the grinder and took care of the rust. I also sectioned and re-welded the handle on to make it a little easier to move around. I actually found the casters in the maintenance dept. at work. They had been bought a few years ago and never used so they let me take them home. So the cart and the wheels were freebies. The only money I have in this thing is the paint.

Rustoleum rusty metal primer

Gloss Black and Red finish

I cut some pieces of rubber to lay in the trays (also a freebie from work) and cleaned it and the wheels up with some armor-all as they had been sitting around a while and looked like hell. I'm happy with the outcome. Should serve me well for a long time. Let me know what you guys think.

Looks good, I got one from the scrap yard, got to rewire the box on the end and paint up. I was thinkin blue but a nice black would suit!

Looks nice, but if its not too late, put the casters on the end with the handle. It's not a shopping cart and you won't have much leverage to steer, and steering a cart like that from behind like a fork lift drives is often easier.

Currently has a KP Components 6 link in the back and bags / cups on the front with stock arms and spindles. Next on the list is to put a new roof on (the new roof is sitting on the hood in the pic) which is why the glass has been removed. Also going to back-half it and channel it once I get a bigger welder. Had it since '99 and its been on air since '03.

I'm in southeast Louisiana. Don't know what tire I'll be using yet...planning on a either a 22/24 wheel combo or 24' billets all round with a 8.5" wheel in the front and a 10" in the back with a 4" BS and a 6' lip. Will be narrowing the rear axle as well.

nice work, but like saturnman said, i would kept the book rest. probably would have put a laptop on there, but still need paper manuals every now and again... hell of a low buck cart!
