Finished a proper 3’x5’ welding/fab table today. I bolted the 1/2” hot rolled top, to a channel frame so I wouldn’t warp the snot out of it welding it. I then had it blanchard ground for pretty good price at $400. Then I added the legs, shelf and base. Still need to built an anvil insert for one end and an extension support slide on the other. I restored the Wilton vice several years ago, now it has a proper home. I tapped and bolted it to the top, but if it’s annoying and gets in the way I may make a insert mount for it so I can take it on and off easily. Although, 4 simple cap screws holding it on is pretty easy too. I’m all in for about $1000, but the top slab was purchased for $200 a couple years ago. More like a $600 slab if I bought it today. Pretty stoked to have it done.

Awesome table...and probably much more than $600 for that top today
Just looked. $547. On sale for $410 yesterday. Our local steel supplier runs really nice flash sales a few times a year. 25% all hot rolled yesterday.
NICE!

what are the pins sticking out parallel to the ground for?
Ground point lugs.

Went on their website...way better than my supplier, jealous of those prices

Nice.

I had a 6x12ft table, 1" top. Gave it away to a friend. Was too big for me in a 24x26 garage.
