I decided I wanted to go with the custom tile type flooring. After researching, I was tempted to go with a less expensive flooring, but after receiving samples I chose the racedeck flooring for the following reasons: Thicker then the other product, made in the USA and loved the durability. Installation was easy. I used the floor layout tool at Racedeck to get the correct colors. Order arrived in a few days. Had a simple issue with some wrong gender edge pieces and they quickly corrected. ( I have a drive through garage, and needed both male and female pieces to complete).

Using a rubber mallet, I finished the install in 2 days. Used my miter saw for the cuts which cut easily. I left a 1/2" on all sides to allow for expansion (I am in Arizona and temperatures are extreme in summer).

The flooring has a softer feel when you walk on it. I have dragged cabinets across the floor with no marking issues. Cleans easily, and you tend to be more minefull of keeping the floor clean when it looks nice. My wife even likes the garage now!

I already had yellow tool cabinets (Harbor Freight US General 2) and they matched very well with the floor. I am currently installing Sandusky yellow cabinets to match on the other wall.

I didn't start out to do a yellow theme garage, but everything fell into place. Here are the products I used so far in the design:
Racedeck Diamond Tiles
Harbor Freight US General 2 Series cabinets and lockers
Dewalt Heavy Duty open shelving
Sandusky Yellow Garage Cabinets

I appreciate the many reviews on the Garage Journal which I used in choosing products!

Looks great, but at $6.25 sq foot in Canada I think I could save a few hundred and lay Italian marble.

Not sure where you are getting that price? Please contact us for international pricing and mention you're a GJ member too :)

I'm not the person that said $6.25. I'm the person that asked Chlomes100 why he thinks it would be $6.25.

Normally I am not a big fan of yellow for a color in the garage. However, having said that, I must say that in your garage the floor and the yellow color seems to work out great! It looks wonderful.

Did you seal the concrete underneath? I have a new garage that I would like to install a flooring system. I’m wondering if I should seal the concrete first?
