Haha, how did it end up in the stove? Is that "Millers Falls"? Pretty cool piece if so.
I think it must have been a proto made job under contract maybe, not sure. It might have been a flea score or given, been around a long time. We put it on a bolt, still seems strong. I suspect one of the kids dumped it in the garbage somehow. I have a dozen or so, they move around a lot.
Some ofmy stuff aint worth much and paid a dollar for a wrench when it was new but after beating the snot out of one forever a guy becomes a bit partial to it regardless of what it is worth.
I got a few survivors that out lasted the best of them too. I have some screwdrivers like that and several combo wrenches. The 8 inch in question have under about 10 brands and did actually find one a while back I tossed and in the last year or 2 come across 3 or 4 import combo that probably got hammered. I made something out of them, never occurred they would replace them and they didn't owe. The whole thing cost me 10$ over 30 yrs.
