I don't have any experience but these have been on my radar for a few years and I finally ordered a set of the 1x2 clamps.
If you're not familiar, they're similar to Pony pipe clamps but use a 1x2 instead of a pipe; 1x2 steel or aluminum tube or bar. You can set them up as a spreader instead of a clamp. You can tack the 1x2 to your table and use the clamp. The mini ones use a 1/2x1 and the 2x4 version uses, well, a 2x4 (wood).
