An excellent idea. Did you place a plaque on in... even some where inconspicuous. Work like that should be signed.

Awesome job. How did the guys like it?

Eric, you kicked Paul Jr's *** on that themed table!

I'lll take that as one helluva comment. A big thanks to all the others.

I was going to on the bottom but as I was getting it completed, it slipped my mind. Maybe I can get one and put it on while nobody is looking.

Little bit of a dig, but stumbled upon this while reading your garage build. Page 21 of 52 thus far, but WOW!! Anyway, this table is simply an amazing display of thought and ability. A small hang-out is a great idea for a fire-house. Good job man...on everything you touch! Now, back to the garage thread! Should have it done in a few days!!

That's a Functional WORK OF ART . . . Bravo!

Using all the firefighter goodies is way too cool . . . excellent. That will surely be 50 year KEEPER for the fire station.

Curious about the firehose connectors if those are now replaced by quick-connect? I saw Shark Tank show where a fireman designed a quick-connect firehose that cut down time for connection to hydrant. Has your area converted to those style quick connects??

I think that fireman made some serious money designing the quick connect.

Hopefully this table will be around for 50+ years, long after me.

Those same style of couplings are still in use today. There is an exception on the 5" LDH (large diameter hose) it has Stortz connection on them between sections of hose. However, the connection at the hydrant is still threaded like regular hose. We suggest that the water dept make the switch to the hydrants with Stortz connection made on them but no go. It's about a $400 upgrade andthey won't go for that.

Can't believe I missed this thread the first time. This was a great idea, and you did a wonderful job putting it together!

I've always wanted to make a coffee table out of an old wooden backboard. Haven't gotten around to that one yet...
