Long time no update. The last couple of months have been extremely hectic. Work has been insane and I, as of last week, am now a father. I have managed to finish the upstairs guest bathroom, the nursery, the front guest bed room, the laundry room, and have completed all of the tile in the master bath. I have also been taking care of other small items throughout the house.

I need to get better pics of the completed guest bath and nursery.

WOW, that is freaking AWESOME! I just spent about an hour reading all 15 pages of this thread the fire house is very cool. keep up the great work. also Congrats on your new family member.

By the way I live in an old Church and I agree with others who said you need to have a picture of the place in black and white from back in the day hanging some where in there. I have a pic of our house from way back when with the steeple which was removed to be used at the churches new location.

Lucky Guy. Any more photos of the interior ? Would love to have something like that. There is one here empty but I doubt it will come on the market anytime soon.

Sorry to quote such an old message. There one in Albury/Lavington out the back of the Centro plaza but single story and not as cool.

Now I've got another thread to stare at.

Wow, just finished reading the thread 3 hours later. What an awesome place.

The Old Fire Station here has since been sold and become a Cafe Restaurant. Sold for big $$$.

I can't tell you how jealous I am, I've wanted an old firehouse for years. It's looking great!

Thanks for sharing with us.

Not much new to post. Things have slowed down a bit with the kid. I find myself holding him for hours at a time, and it just flies by. Been working to close out the permits and get my final inspections. Paint here and there. Need to order my glass for the shower. I was hoping to use 3-form varia escorsin bear grass fade, but it was $$$$. So i may just do glass instead. The wife is "nesting" ie furniture shopping. I am hoping to set the master toilet and maybe the vanity this weekend. I was holding off on the vanity until I had shower glass.

I am looking forward to working on the apparatus bay and finding permanant homes for my tools. I have a lot of ideas for that space.

The pics disapeared because my wife reorganized my photobucket account.

Tell her it's an organized mess.. Kind of like my tool box. ;)
When we built out our new master bath, and hired the shower guys to come in and put in the shower glass, I didn't think to cover everything. They set their tools all over the new pedistal sinks, toilet, bath cabinet.. where ever they could find a flat surface. They even threw some of their tools down on our bed. My wife about went into shock! Not to mention, it was an old guy, with an unsteady hand, and he got clear caulk everywhere..!! So unless you are installing it yourself, cover your new stuff.. Or you'll be doing this.. :willy_nil

Not much going on. Been busy with the new kiddo and work. Finished the master suite. Took down the hose tower enclosure in the garage. Good thing I did too because it should have been structural and it was not. I was able to fix the structural issue pretty easily and incorporate a place for storage.

Caption for the above pic - "Hey what the heck! Did you see that guy cut me off?!?"

The kiddo is a keeper; have fun. Does that count as his 'first set of wheels'? lol

Not much new going on. Been doing some small odds and ends. I did manage to start designing the Aparatus Bay (garage) in sketch up (fun program).

Trying to figure out how to post the image.

Can anyone post this as an image?

I have already built the shelf on the left hand side. It is 4' deep by 8' wide. I am going to try to start the right hand side today. The post on the left is now a structural member that I had to install when I took out the hose tower. Hopefuly I wont have to add the one on the right. I think I am going to incorporate a dog cage in my work bench. I will probably take down the old reznor this spring and replace it with a space ray tube heater. The cabinets on the right hand wall are laboratory style cabinets that i picked up last fall. Similar to the ones in the "cabinets" thread in gen discussion. Unfortunately I have to take up garage space with gym equipment.

Update:

Our episode of Desperate Landscapes airs on 5/1 on the DIY network.

Working on small odds and ends in the house.
Next couple of big projects:
- Sump Pump in the basement - I dont have flooding issues, just continuous seepage
- Chimney caps - another source of water in my basement
- Landscaping the back yard - to appease the boss
- Roof - bout time for a new one. Anyone know a good roofer in the Nati that can do white EPDM?
- Office - Need to install the window in the hosetower and rock the interior and slap up some paint.
