So, there is this communication tower in the back yard, I would say it is about 140' tall. I have the connections to have it takin down on the cheap. Some have mentioned leasing the tower to a cell provider or selling it to a HAM op. Anybody know anybody?

You need to find an old picture of your place in all its glory with the crew and firetruck in front, get a copy, get it framed, and hang it in your office.

The Cincy FD or local library should be able to help you on this.

I think there may be a Chapter of SPAAMFAA (Society for the Preservation and Appreciation of Antique Motorized Fire Apparatus in America) in the area that may be able to help also.

Best of luck with your new project.

Yeah, that's it.

And a Ahrens Fox Pumper, probably built in Cinncinati, in the driveway to boot.

Sweet!!!

Kudos on the firehouse this is one awesome building, the locations appears to be a fairly nice neighborhood and not on a main road. Can not wait to see the outcome:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::thumbup: Just like everybody else I want that firehouse.

Also the new firehouse is a really modern style, which you do not normally see, I likes

Wow! This is going to be an awesome thread. I subscribed when I opened it and saw the first photo. One of my neighbors lives in a 1920's firehouse. He managed to acquire the original fire engine which is on display. Can't wait to see your progress.

Were abouts is this in Cincy? I am just across the River in N.KY.

What a great looking score, that is for sure. My wife was always wanted to get a old type of building, church, firehouse, or something like that and restore it.

Can't wait to see what you do with it:thumbup:

I'm in NKY too!

Any chance of having a tour for GJ members before you go too far in the remodel? You might get some free labor out of it.

Got a little work done. Been researching what pipe/wire goes where and does what. Demo'd the shelves in the kitchen and ripped up the linoleum. Still working on a final design for the kitchen. Need to demo the radiator and level the floor before cabinets.

Found an old solid cedar door to replace the front door with. Got it stripped and sanded. Just need to throw some sealer on it and hardware. Also need to shrink the opening by 1" wide and 2.5" high.

Working on kitchen design last night. We were thinking of going for that "old world mixed with modern appliances" theme. I made the mistake of showing her www.klondikeRF.com. Anybody want to donate $7K for a refrigerator?

I also spoke to the permit office. Actually one of the inspectors that I work with. He said I should get a "repair permit" which will allow me to do all of the MEP work without submitting drawings. And call for inspections of those systems.

Havent done much work on the firestation recently. did rip up the linoleum in the kitchen. Finalizing designs. And on a good note, my house is under contract! I guess that means we underpriced it.

No kids yet. Just Dogs. The wife is finishing her PHD prior to kiddos.

I was doing some demo in the kitchen and discovered beadboard ceilings above the crappy drop ceiling from the 70s. Need to take another look at my lighting plan now. Also bought new appliances for the kitchen so I could finalize the design. Talk about an expensive weekend.

This weeks plan is to pressurewash the kitchen and prep the floor for leveling. I may go ahead and do the blocking for the cabinets. Need to demo the first floor bath and build a chase for the new plumbing. Need to demo the hosetower on the second floor and remove/store the old lockers.

Sorry I have not posted recently. Been busy with the other house and work. Been dealing with the permit office and everything now appears to be going smoothly. I should have demo of ceilings done in the next week or so. I have ordered kitchen appliances and cabinets. Been doing alot of investigative work on wiring. Having one of my electricians swing by sometime this week. No new pics to post. Only demo completed was the linoleum floors in the kitchen and bath. Ripping out the bath fixtures this week too.

I did some demo of the drop ceiling in the kitchen. There is stained beadboard above which I am going to leave exposed. Also have been cleaning up the back yard for a fence installation.

Update:
Cabinets for the kitchen are sitting in the garage. I installed in floor electric radiant heat in the kitchen and had a new slab poured on top. Need it to cure for another week before I acid stain it. Hoping to do the framing for the cabinets this week and start pulling wire for appliances and maybe hanging a cabinet or two. I need to bring home the camera and download pics and post soon.

Absolutely cool find.

My inquisitiveness wants to ask..... did the Fire house cost much more than a regular house ?

Glad you are getting on smoothly with the planning etc.

Preping the new concrete floors for stain tonight. Wiring in kitchen is roughed in. Plumbing is roughed in. All of the framing for the base cabinets is in. I want to set the base cabinets this weekend so I can frame for the wall cabinets and set them too.

As far as cost. I bought it from the city in an auction. I was the only bidder to meet the bid requirements. I paid more than the minimum bid set by the city. I got it cheap.

I will post pics of the Jeep as soon as I remember my photobucket password.haha As for specs. It is an 83 ish. I built it once and totaled it the day I finished it. Rebuilt it again a year later. It has a healthy Ls1 out of a 99 TA bolted to a sm465 and NP205. Running locked dana 44s with 4.27 gears.
6" alcan lift springs, 36" SS TSLs. The body is an all aluminum aqualu body powdercoated blue streak 2.

Still fighting the city with my "change of use" and C of O.
