What's the length?

I usually use long pokey devices, wondering if a set of these would have merit for the wood stove.

Or a giant steak.....
They are about a foot long. I fancy they would be a bit flimsy for hauling logs about. I made these for my open coal fire. They are just the job for arranging the coals.
They would be good for turning large steaks on the grill...........I might make another set for just that.......Cheers(y)

Nice design and great execution 🍻

Those appear to be WAY better than any I have seen at a thrift store or even a fireplace accessory store.
Thanks mate! Ive always made what i can its satisfying it increases your skills and saves money. and nine times out of ten its better than you can buy because you can tailor it to your application.

Just get a real pair at any thrift store, but nice work!
Thanks mate! Shortage of thrift stores here about. However the scrap bins at work are full to overflowing. So a couple of dinner breaks and hey presto a custom set of tongs at zero cost.(y)

The stuff you just throw together is a hell of a lot nicer than what I do. Those are nice.

Keep at it! The practice is certainly paying off.

I have a pair of modified thrift store tongs for pulling 4” dia moulds out of the kiln just before pouring molten metal into them.
