First aid kits

I'm hoping some of the suggestion here the people HAVE actually done a first aid course.

If NOT I suggest some of you do.

I'm a first AIDER not a doctor/medic/paramedic. I.e I'm NOT a medical person.
Attempting to give liquids , drugs, ******* alchol of all thngs or other "dubious" things can cause MAJOR problems people have ALL kinds of medical history and allergies.

I'm trained to do CPR, use a de-fib, stop bleeding etc.
Anything else a medic needs to do, UNLESS your on the phone to 911 and they instruct you to do something.

In training we are taught NOT to give ANY medication, not even paracetamol or asprin.
There's a very good reason for that, do a course and find out why.

My kit is a bit more extensive as I'm part of a track day organization for motorcycles. Additionally, I participate in several other sports that can see some more serious conditions.

If you aren't trained to use something, you shouldn't be using it.

That all fits nicely in a 6x6x2 container. It's very handy for all kinds of minor stuff when you're on the road.

Here's the kit I take camping and when I'm on trips in my Jeep. It's a fanny pack and hangs off the driver's seat head rest. I took Red Cross standard First Aid and CPR when I was a Scout Leader and have a hockey trainers certificate. Pretty general courses but they've come in handy.

First picture is my simple / standard first aid kit in my basement shop. Standard f/a fare.. To prevent me from using a paper towel and electrical tape for a simple mishap..

The second and third pictures are my Emergency Medical Responder kit that I carry in my car (personal car, I have another in my wife's since she's on blood thinners). I've taken classes to be certified as a State of IN certified EMR, and am part of the Emergency Response Team in my building at work. Last picture shows one of my "cool" EMR tools, a Leatherman Raptor in the foreground.
