Wow. What a difference! I had been thinking about getting one for quite some time now, and finally picked one up today... sweet! My welding has already improved, and the adjustable shade is excellent!

I've had a Miller (the Stars And Stripes model) for about a year now and don't know how I got along without it before. The only gripe I have about it is the auto-off deal. Until I got used to it,I bet I flashed myself about 10 times a day. The 2 minute auto-off is just long enough for you to change clamps,put the helmet back on and zap yourself. Other than that little glitch,I love it-no more changing lense shades all the time,no more doing a ******* dance to flip the helmet down,and it's a lot easier to see where you're starting the arc.

I did quite a bit of research, and was planning on getting one of the Miller ones, until I found that the low amperage TIG was like 10 amps, not 50 like I was thinking. I ended up buying a Hobart XTV from Northern Tool for $129, model #770424 http://hobartwelders.com/weldit/safety_equip/xtv_series_helmets.html
