I'm not too bummed about screwing this up, but I would like some advice on getting it fixed up.
I used a fancy multi-coat metallic epoxy kit which came with phosphoric acid. I know I didn't apply that correctly, so I went and picked up some muriatic acid locally and did another round of etching. Then I applied the base color coat. That turned out fine, though it revealed a number of imperfections in the slab I should've taken care of first...anyway
I know I took too long to add the drips, so they didn't mix well with the 2nd coat. It also took *forever* to cure. They suggest 30-36 hours. It took more like 50. In the meantime, a few bugs and stuff became part of the floor. I was going to live with it but when I got down on it I noticed it wasn't just dirt:
It appears to be lint from the roller I used (Wooster 18", 3/4" nap--whoops). It's throughout the floor. It's a different one than what was included in the kit (9" 3/8" nap) and I know I didn't have this problem with the basecoat.
I'm planning on leaving it alone for a while to make sure my prep was sufficient, then recoating with somebody else's solid color and re-ordering the effects.
Provided this coating doesn't lift up, what should I do to get this ready for a fresh coat? Would sanding it a little be enough or should I just grind it all off and start again from the bare concrete?
