First garage build

Hello everyone. I'm working on planning my first garage build. My hopes were to be able to do a 30x40 pole barn. But after checking my build setback line and septic reserve lines, I may have to scale back unless I want to shell out to move some septic reserve lines. Over the next couple of weeks I should find out for sure what my max size is going to be. Still hoping to be able to do 3 bays if possible. Also looking to do attic trusses to allow for extra storage room above.
If any one has suggestions, pictures or ideas, I'd love to hear and see.

Thanks

My vote goes for monolithic slab and stick frame especially if planing on insulation. As well as regular trusses if your going to insulate and heat. Good luck with build love seeing people’s different habits and wants lol

I would build the largest conventional stick built garage possible. If you are a tool guy, car enthusiast, tinkerer, hobby crafter or whatever, the garage is the most important "toolbox". I don't know anyone who says they wish there garage was "smaller', I know a bunch of guys who say they should have built bigger a month after construction.

OK so here is what I have come up with. The largest I could go is a 32x30. But we had to cut one of the back corners off due to the offset with the septic reserve line. I talked with the county and i was able to get a variance of 5' instead of the required 10'. So instead of making the entire building smaller there will be a 5th wall of about 7 1/2' only cutting off 25 sqft. So it will be 32' across the front. left side will be 30' deep, back wall will be 27' before the 45 degree and the a 7' wall and the 25' on the other side. Going to have 2- 10x10 roll up doors in the front. 1-8x10 roll up off the back, Entry door off the side adjacent to the house. 4 windows. 1 on each side an 1 off the back on either side of the 8x10 roll up door. 6/12 trusses. Light sandstone with a charcoal gray wainscot and trim. I was able to get everything through and got my building permit Friday. I have a tentative start date of 3.31.19. More to come as we get closer to starting.

Well we finally got started today. Footers were dug yesterday and inspected this morning. and all of the post have been set. Good thing I was here when the trusses showed up because I noticed before they dropped them that they were the wrong ones. We ordered 6/12 and they sent 4/12. So the new trusses will be here tomorrow afternoon. Actually it worked out well as the rest of the framing will be done by the time they get here so they can drop them right inside the bay and they wont have to be moved hardly at all.

Here is the update for this week. All the metal is on except for a few trim pieces on the back corner. Hoping to finalize a concrete contractor by this weekend and get that scheduled so we can get the bay doors on and have it fully enclosed.
