Hey y'all, I have a question.....we are moving into our First Home (take a deep calming breath). I was going to surprise my husband with an epoxy-coat floor for our 3 car garage (he's deployed right now).

I went to the new house last night and the current owner says the floor wasn't sealed, (it's shiny) but I did the H20 test and the water just sat on the floor. There is only 1 rental place in town with a grinder and it's $$$ to rent and the diamond pads are even more $$$.

What do you think I should do?????? :headscrat

First off, thank you and your husband for the sacrifices you're making in duty to our country!

Second - Congratulations on your new home!

Considering the shine, and the water beading, odds are there is some sealer on the floor, and it will need to be removed.

Grinding equipment rental rates are all over the board, maybe we can help you find a reasonable deal. Where are you located?

Is there a Home Depot store around? They usually rent them. Using a 7 inch hand grinder is not ideal. Tough on the back and knees.

Stephmar, what town are you in? We can do some research and help you if we know where to look.

I'd gladly help out a service member and their family.
