First post here and wanted to share pics, and ask for some assistance with, my new to me Hein Werner 2ton floor jack.

This was a CL find that would only lift partially as pictured here...

It sat overnight and leaked some, so went got some Jack oil... looking better now.

Labeled as Model K... and other than the leak,
has only a couple minor issues to resolve with a clip and a couple of casters that wont hold grease.

This thing is awesome and I know with some work it will outlast me. From the threads I've been able to find, I know there are many knowledgeable folks here... so a couple questions if I may.

I'm looking for a service manual of sorts to help with fixing the leak... Or would these steps apply to my jack? http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=51105&highlight=jack+seal+kit

I assume a full seal kit is in order? I will be contacting user Hiball for this if needed.

Any known ship dates for s/n's around 66730161?

Thank you
Manuel

Welcome to Garage Journal. Props for doing a little legwork on this using the search function prior to posting. As you have already realized, Hiball is the resident hydraulic jack expert and I would strongly recommend you just message him with any questions. I'm sure he could tear down and rebuild one of those HW jacks blindfolded.

I appreciate that... here's a pic of the handle.

If yours does match, I do have a question re operation... should the control knob stay engaged on it's own when the release knob is closed and raising the saddle... or must it be manually held during operation? Hope that makes sense.

Thank you
Manuel

Same as moto.......Have the 1.5 ton model that is at least 30 years old. Mine leaks and should be rebuilt and lacks a little capacity where it strains to lift over 2000 pounds.

I am going to need a kit soon as well.

I have the same jack. Other than pumping or raising slower that my newer one it's works fine. The small knob or latch is a lock to keep the handle up so it doesn't fall down. It should pull up and latch so you can pump the handle when using it. My latch is worn so I just replaced it with a short bolt to keep it up and the handle doesn't latch. Don't really need it anyway. I thinks it's neat that it has grease fittings on the wheels. BCD.

Retro- I appreciate you checking into that... Thank you.

Bottlecap- That makes sense. When testing it, I was able to get the know to 'stay' as I was raising the saddle, but not every time so wasn't sure. Thank you
