Hello Everyone,

I recently joined and have enjoyed reading everything this site offers. I'm not big on introductions and I wouldn't have posted I didn't have something semi worthy to show for it.

So anyways I made my first Snap on Purchase. I have always wanted a set of quick release ratchets by Snap on, and finally pulled the trigger. I am just a hobbyist so this is definitely overkill for me but I'm absolutely loving the feeling of these ratchets and I think it will make my experience in the garage better. My name is Jason. I am 25 years old, and I hope you enjoy.

Interesting how the Snap On logo is in a more thin font on the 3/8 ratchet than on the 1/2 and 1/4.

Welcome to GJ, hope you enjoy and stay. Nice to have ratchets that are not just a toy, but a real tool that you will pass on to your prodigy.

Welcome friend!

Welcome to GJ, hope you enjoy and stay. Nice to have ratchets that are not just a toy, but a real tool that you will pass on to your prodigy.

Thanks for the welcome. It certainly is nice, and I hope I get plenty of use out of them. Does anyone have any idea about why the logo looks to be in a different font on the 3/8 or is that normal?

It is normal ,Snap On has been using that style of handle for years now.

The other 2 ratchets just have the newest ( recently introduced ) style handle on them.

Welcome to GJ .

Very nice ratchets , I am sure you will enjoy using them.

I'm waiting until I get to say i made my first Snap On Purchase. I have three older tool boxes I've been working on but haven't taken the dip in the pool of snap on tools yet.

I know once I do I'm probably not going to want to stop! :willy_nil

Welcome to the addiction! Once you start buying quality tools, it's hard to buy cheap ones there after.

The thin logo is the "old" style logo from the mid 2000's when the comfort/soft grips were ramping up. Thicker logo is the current logo.

You just hppened to get a ratchet with some of the older logo handle stock. Same handle other than that tho.

I don't think all Snap On stuff is the best or even worth the money, but Dual 80s are the BEST ratchets made on this planet, by FAR! you will love them...:rocker:

Well, a great first purchase... and dare I say; there WILL be more Snap-on ratchet purchases to come!

Your next snap-on ratchets to consider:

Ratchet, Sealed Head, Long Flex Head, Soft Grip, Red, 8 1/4"
Stock#: THLF72

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...roup_ID=682476&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

Ratchet, Dual 80™ Technology, Long Flex-Head, Comfort Grip, 3/8" drive, 13 11/16"
Stock#: FHLF80

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...roup_ID=682403&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

Ratchet, Dual 80, Flex Head, Long Standard Handle, 1/2" drive, 24 13/16"
Stock#: SLF80A

http://buy1.snapon.com/catalog/item...roup_ID=682694&store=snapon-store&dir=catalog

In the future; remember you can save allot of money by buying USED; when you use a tool ONCE, it is USED! Good luck and happy hunting! Keep your eyes peeled on the classifieds section of this site for good deals! :)

Great first SO purchase and welcome to GJ!! I have those 3 as well and have had great luck with them. But be warned, the snap on dual 80 goodness can develop into a bit of an addiction....Theyre like potato chips-you can't eat just one (or 3 in your case) :lol_hitti

Thank you all for the welcome. I am really excited to get some real use out of these dual 80 ratchets. I have never used a ratchet of this quality before.

Also thanks for the heads up on the possible addiction. I will keep my eyes on the classifieds if I ever need anything.

Just be careful buying Snap-On stuff, its expensive as hell and its hard to resist buying. The Dual-80 rat beta are the best in the world in my opinion but some of the other stuff does not have enough over the competition to justify the price. Enjoy your new ratchets because they are going to be the only ones you want to use, you might as well throw your other ratchets away!
