Long time fan, first time caller. Finally moved out of the city and bought a house just outside the burbs. Starting to get the workshop put together so that I have a place to work on home projects. I spent a lot of time on here reading about epoxy vs. tile floors and decided on epoxy for half of the garage, which is now the workshop.

A local makerspace closed down and I was able to get a 3" thick butcher block table and some welding screens at an incredible bargain. I'm starting this thread so that I can get some advice on where to go from here.

What I bought:
A house that came with a 31x50 divided detached garage. The person who originally built this detached garage had a lift on the right side with the ceiling notched out. Based on the lighting and amount of air hookups I assume they did some body/paint work. Due to the double garage door being on the right side, I'm keeping that for parking. The whole building is plumbed for air and my workshop side has a small 6x6 room for an air compressor.

What I've done since moving in 6 weeks ago:
Had floors professionally epoxied with a uniform color flake
Fresh paint on all the walls and dry-lok on the cinderblocks
Relocated some existing cabinets with fresh paint and hardware
Rewired some switches to add 500W of LED lighting (can toggle between warm and cool temperatures)
Wired in an old surround sound system
Laid down cement board to protect the floor and started creating a welding area
Moved my motorcycle lift in and rebuilt my clutch

I'm currently trying to get my workbench figured out. Going to get a rolling tool cabinet from HFT and then weld extensions on my workbench to get everything at the same height.

Looking forward to hearing some suggestions on what y'all think I should plan for all the extra space in here!

Yep, that's nice, great space, I'm officially jealous.
Floor looks great too

Jay

I'm glad the floor is getting some appreciation. It was a tough pill to swallow right after buying our first home, but I'm really pleased with the outcome.
