Hello everyone, lomg time lurker first time poster 
So I have an issue and I hope I can pick your brains while I wait for technical support to get back to me tomorrow(I hope). After much reading and researching I went ahead and ordered the Harbor Freight Mid-rise scissor lift.

The lift arrived on Wednesday and over the past two days my father and I ran the 240v wiring from the house to the garage. We have 117.3v at each "hot" lead on the NEMA 6-20p plug, so we know the wiring from the house is good. When we plug in the motor and try to use it, nothing happens. So the search and rescue mission begins...
The motor is a 2HP, single Phase, 3450rpm, 220v unit from SMC.
This is the USA website and my model number isn't listed YCN 5662-4k. But the Chinese one shows it, its all in Chinese though.

The first thing we did was check the on/off switch. Continuity at the switch is correct - 0 resistance when pushed in, infinite when released.
Next we started checking the wiring. We had removed the switch panel to check the switch, and now we had access to the wires.
*Green lead is ground, which is secured to the case of the motor and has continuity to ground.
*White voltage wire splits into two other leads, which run into the motor case. These two wires are yellow.
*Black voltage wire goes to the on/off switch.
*The other side of the switch comes from inside the motor case. There are another two yellow wires, that connect into one wire, which screws to the switch.
As you can see we have four yellow wires that go into the motor case. Two of these wires go to the capacitor, the other two, we think go to the motor itself. Are we correct? (Unfortuantely we didn't remove the case of the motor, since I don't want to ruin my warranty)
So to recap -
Ground to screw in case.
Hot lead to 2 wire split - into case.
Hot lead to on/off switch.
Now here's what we were able to determine after testing.
When the plug is connected to the outlet, all of the wires besides ground, are hot. All meassure 117v, without the on/off switch being pressed.
The hot lead that goes to the on off switch meassure 117v.(obvious)
The other side of the switch, without the switch being pressed, meassures 117v.
The two yellow leads that go to the capacitor meassure 117v.
The lead that comes from the motor, which is supposed to go to the opposite side of the on/off switch has 117v.
I also disconnected one of the yellow wires that go to the capacitor, and with it disconnected I still read 117v on it.
As you can guess we're a bit confused here...
Questions:
Has anybdy had any experience with this type of electrical issue on these motors?
If anyone here has one of these lifts, would you be willing to remove the panel and take a few pictures or voltage readings?
Is there anything that sticks out that we did wrong or didn't test right?
