First Post, More to Come

Hello, first time posting. Joined about a year ago and have since been lurking as I completed the planning of my current and future garage related projects.

Located in Wisconsin and currently have an attached three car garage (36'x24') in which I mostly use for vehicle storage and projects.

Originally had planned on an addition to the garage, but unforeseen cost has limited me to building a small detached garage 12'x18' in spring of 2020.

Pictures and some build threads to come in the future. This winter includes a Racedeck floor, mid rise scissor lift, sub panel in the attached garage and removing permanent attic stairs in favor of a pull down ladder.

Welcome, pics, we always like pics.

A 12' x 18' garage isn't likely going to be much-use except for lawn equipment storage, or bicycle/motorcycle storage. Are you limited to that size by zoning? At-least make it 12' x 24' so you have some room at the end for tool storage and modest work area.

I understand the size limits me. The original plan was a 16’x28’ addition for a 2 post lift. Largest I could build attached to the home. Zoning limits detached to 216 sqft when the primary residence has an attached garage.

The new garage will be for lawn equipment, large tool storage, bicycles, motorcycle, etc. getting everything out of the main garage that isn’t automotive related.

Attached is the addition that I will not be doing unless this becomes my forever home. Rough plans for the small detached garage and the attached garage floor layout.
