Hello all, excellent forum. I just got done putting PPG aquapon down in my garage and have some questions. First, the background: I first etched the floor and let it dry for a week. I then put down the first coat of white as 1 gal part A, 1 gal part B, and a half gal of xyole (spelling?; the thinner). This was rolled onto the floor and 2 rows of the rat wall. I let it dry for a day then put down a full strength of the white again. Next, I let it dry 2 days and then taped it off today and put down 2'x2' black squares (also aquapon). I'm not planning to put any top-coat.

Questions:

1. How long should I wait to remove the tape and is there any tricks to getting it off without hurting my white coat below? Used frogtape.
2. Once I get the tape off, I'm going to stay out of the space for 2 weeks. Is this long enough?
3. How do I maintain this particular coating? Do I wax it, scrub it, soap/water, etc? Even with clean boots, I noticed my step marks right away then put bags on my feed.
4. Once I remove the tape, I'm sure I'll have a small lip where the squares are. Do I need to do anything to smooth this out?
5. My last question, is what will hurt the floor and is there any regular maintenance?

Thanks.

1. 2 weeks should be plenty I kept off of mine for a week and it was fine.
2. I would pull of the top right away to allow the masking edge to level out.
3. I use laundy detergent to wash my floor whever it gets dirty.
4. Pull the tape off while it is still wet so the edge can level out.
5. Not much will hurt it except dragging sharp object across it.
6. I would consider putting a clear on top of it.

Thanks. How did you determine to use laundry detergent? I do have a little lip between squares, but will probably let it alone as a top clearcoat will be hundreds of dollars.
