71 here and still can't seem to stay out of the garage and relax like most normal retires. I've followed the post here on and off for a number of years, this is a great fountain of information and inspiration. Thank you all for taking the time sharing. Very impressed by the level of craftsmanship and creativity seen on your posts.

Welcome! My grandfather is a little over 80 years old, owned a small dairy farm in Maine in the '60s and then worked as a tractor repairman, which he still does part-time today. He did not continue in school past the 8th grade. Day in and day out, he's either working on tractors or building a huge variety of stuff around his house, such as building a hot tub from scratch without any plans (other than his imagination), or making small delicate pieces of artwork. It doesn't seem like he has plans to slow down, and I believe he'll continue for quite some time yet. Don't ever relax completely; I'm certain that's what dulls the mind in old age, and even shortens one's lifespan.

Welcome to the forum, some of the kids need our perspective on things. They think they know so much better than we older ones.

I can remember when FDR was President , they are likely to ask FD Who?
