I just joined the forum as I am interested in a lift as a two car storage system and ability to work on my cars with out having to use a creeper.
My cars are small in width and length so I don't need a big unit. I want the ability to remove the tires to work on brakes etc. I have a 10 foot height and plenty of depth in my garage. My cars weigh less than 3000 lbs each. I'm not wanting to install it myself and I would want to have the unit installed by someone else.
So I will be reading through the forum and learning from everyones experiences.

How often do you use the car that will be stored above?
If you will use it regularly the 4 post is the way to go, but a 2 post is much better for actually working on the car. IF the top car is going to be a casual use vehicle I'd go with the 2 post.

Four post with bridge jacks would work. Best part of a four post is the ability to put drip pans under the top car. Your Healey's probably don't leak but just saying.

A Brit car that doesn't leak? Doesn't that mean that component has ran out of oil?

Don't most full lift 2 post need more than 10' ceilings? I would get a 4 post with a bridge Jack.

I have just installed a BendPak HD-7P and while there local installers available, after reading the instructions I decided to put it up myself. The hardest part by far is getting it off the truck. Fortunately, my neighbor has a forklift. The only real heavy lifting I couldn't do by myself was the two runways which I borrowed an hour of my neighbor's time to help.

I purchased a 4 post lift from Greg Smith along with the hydraulic jacks. Me and about 6 buddies installed it and feel that it's the best $$ ever spent. I store and work on cars very easily and makes oils changes, brake bleeds and any work at the wheels so easy. I've had it for over 6 years and haven't had any issues. You'll want to measure your car heights to make sure you can double stack the cars you have. I also just installed a 12" x 12" Free-Flow tile from RaceDeck.com under each post base with the perimeter edges to finish it out. This will keep the bottom of the post from rusting and sitting in water if your floors ever gets wet.
