I would like to try to do some electrolysis on some old rust Diamond Calk wrenches and a drill press table but I have never done it before. I've watched some videos on YouTube and I'm wondering what kind of battery charger I need to make it work and how dangerous is it? If I'm bringing up questions that have already been asked, and answered, I apologize.

I use an old Sears 8 amp. The new variable amp chargers won't work. I just got a 5 amp power station that I plan to hook up to the tub for future use.

x2 older ones work better. If using washing soda outdoors and take you time its safe.

I mix my solution as a slurry and add it to a vat (garbage can) that is already full of water and parts. I watch the amp meter and stop adding it when it is about 5 amps or so.

If you add too much soda you will over draw the charger. I have also added a car battery in parallel but really did not see too much of a difference.

I use it to strip off layers of paint. It takes time but gets the got done.
