First time Garage build here! Have a few questions!

Hello and thanks for your input. I am building a garage into a sloped yard, and I'm in an area I need permitting to build. I will need foundation walls to be at least 8" above any grade. To simply it, I was thinking at the highest point that is 8" above grade, make all the other walls the same elevation. about a 3 foot difference from one elevation to the other. Not a big deal. I would like to build a pole barn on the foundation to ease costs and speed the build time. Could I put a treated 6x under the poles similar to normal framed construction goes? I want to submit the plans but figured I'd first get an opinion of what others may have seen/tried or experienced.

2nd, I want to consider putting a lift in it later. i would have a good 13' of height and I could make good use of that. Should i consider 4 post over 2 post, and depending on which one I choose, should I do anything different to the floor while pouring it, make it thicker, for example in spots where the posts would go, or extra rebar.

No clue on the first part, I’m sure someone will chime in shortly .

I don’t believe you need to do anything special to the slab when doing a 4 post lift, some manufacturers sell a wheel kit for them so anchoring to the slab isn’t necessary.

A 2 post lift is an entirely different animal and the manufacturer will have specs for the concrete requirements.
