First time post and a toolbox pickup

My first post here! I've been lurking around drooling at the older toolboxes.
I found what looks like a K300 Snap-on and some new-ish Craftsman box. I've been expanding my garage capacity to work on my car more, so these will be greatly appreciated.

If anyone happens to have spare handles for the Snap-on...well, I could use four. Yikes. Maybe I can still get these from the company new? Either way I'll either have to fix up the patch job on that bottom drawer and replace the slides, or just find a new bottom drawer. Here's a closeup of the damaged section. Everything else is great, if a bit hole-y.

Can anyone confirm if it's a 40s model? It has the red sliding door that I think means it's early forties and I can't find any model numbers on the back. Both the emblems got yoinked off before the sale...can't win them all. The paint is so-so, but maybe a buff out will do it good. I had to drill out about a million rivets, so I see welding in this boxes future along with a nice strip to bare metal and respray along with modest bodywork. Value isn't a huge concern to me because I'm planning on keeping these long-term, so I'd rather keep them from getting rusty.

Those are nice boxes. That ones a bit rough but it's fixable. Missing alot of handles and emblems though.

I don't think they made those boxes before the early '50s. This is from the 1955 Snap On catalog. Mine is like that.

Nice boxes! BTW where in Sacto are you? I lived all over that town back in the day.

Man, I've been all over. Right now I'm down by the university. But I've lived in Carmichael, Gold River, Arden...etc. Lived in Davis for a while too.

Thanks for the input everyone! It's been difficult finding stuff, half the photos are broken links I keep finding. I was (mistakenly) under the impression that the KR300 was the predecessor with the satin silver aluminum door.

Anyone have any spare pieces to finish this one off? I'm guessing I'm gonna be fabricating a lot but it's worth a shot.

Try to look around - sometimes people part old broken or rusty toolboxes - might get lucky one day. For emblems look on eBay or parts box of the same era on CL...

Just one on ebay for a cool $2400 hahaha

I'd put a link up, but no luck with my new account here. There's another that's been painted blue that's a similar era with no emblems.
