First time posting and needing some advice.

I recently build a 30x30 shop and i'm thinking of going with the Legacy HD6600. I would really like to have it in a light brown stain to a tan colored stain and sealed. Being that it is fairly new slab what kind of prep work needs to be done? I have seen where some folks on here are sanding or grinding the surface and some are just etching it. I only want to do this once! Any and all info would be GREATLY appreciated.

Moose:
If you use acid stain to apply your color, the floor will be ready to accept the sealer.
Acid stain utilizes muriatic acid as a base. It etches the floor.

If you go for an acetone dye, you will have to acid etch or sand/grind the floor prior.


New floors are slick, the sealer needs to be able to penetrate for good adhesion.

do you have anything I can put in the the sealer for a little traction? I don't want it to be real slippery when wet.

Thanks for all the info Just one more for ya. I have been parking my 4 wheeler and tractor in the shop. I have gotten some mud and a small amount of oil on the floor. What's the best way to clean it for the stain and sealer to work properly? Thanks again for the help.
