Thanks Cajunfirehawk and Racedeck 1...I was concerned about the staircase resting on the racedeck and how it will perform over time. The staircase sits evenly on the border of two pieces. The flange at the bottom of the pole is secured through the racedeck into the concrete by Tapcons. The stairs are bolted at the top and are rock solid secure. Has any testing been performed with racedeck subjected to a localized heavy load?

I have jacked up cars on RaceDeck with nothing under the wheels of the jack. That is certainly a heavier load than those stairs even with a couple of fat dudes standing on them. I would not worry about it.

Floor looks very nice. Where did you get the stairs? Reason why I am asking is the son of a friend of mine has a really bad staircase in his house. He just bought the house recently and he knows he needs to do something with the staircase, but is undecided how he wants to re-do it. Possibly this is something he would consider doing, it looks nice and he is a younger single guy who would not have a problem climbing the stairs.

Last time I checked, I believe RaceDeck is rated at 250 PSI with rolling loads up to 80,000lbs.

Thanks for the replies ....The stairs came out of a building in the riverside area of Jacksonville Fl. I have a friend who's wife works for a development company and her company purchased the building planning to demolish it and build on the land. The company had a party in the building before it was torn down as it was a waterfront lot on the St Johns River near downtown. During the party my friend mentioned to his wife's boss that the stairs would probably work well in my garage. the boss said he was free to take them as no contract had been signed for the demo yet. We went in and got them then they sat on my garage floor for 4yrs until I finally got going on the project. I have a build thread going under the title of "Florida Garage remodel" in the garage gallery forum to see more pics.
