Iv'e read here many times about how easy it is to get Tekton tools replaced under warranty. We all know that talk is cheap and the real proof comes later on.

Here's what happened in my situation... I'm installing two new thermoformers with 2 guys assisting. I go to use my 7" cutters and find that one of the jaws is broken. How it broke is, and will remain a mystery although I'm pretty confident someone used it to cut and pry open metal shipping straps.

I sent an email to Tekton support last night, and this morning I received shipping confirmation that a replacement is on the way. No driving to the store...no waiting a week for the truck to make his rounds.

Now...would a more expensive and therefore possibly higher quality tool have failed under the same conditions? I don't know. What I do know is that if I found a pair of cutters costing 5 times as much money as these in damaged condition my reaction would have been quite negative.

Anyways, I like their tools...have quite a few and am impressed that they stand behind what they sell.

There are certain tools that will eventually break if you use them a lot regardless of the quality level. Cutters are not one of them. My Channellock and Knipex side cutters can handle metal strapping in a pinch. As for prying, it depends on how you do it. I can see the tips breaking potentially.

I wonder if the Tekton warranty is still good over here in the UK, probably not knowing this place.

Sonic are half decent, only one dealer I know of though, the other stuff is sealey if it's even made on this planet lol.

I dont know of any good Taiwan brands here in the UK, so normally looks for decent deals on Facom / or anything German.

Facom is easy enough to warranty here, i usually just send my stuff to primetools down south if theres any issues.

Toptul can be had from this company;

https://www.ewsupplies.co.uk/

The website is a bit basic but the prices are good.

Gedore, Stahlwille etc.. all offer they're warranty here, however you usually need to send the tool away, Hazet wanted me to send a ratchet to germany for warranty..

Halfords do a okay-ish range of sockets etc.. with a very easy warranty. Machinemart sell Clarke pro that all comes with a "lifetime" warranty, however it doesn't cover any moving parts, making it pretty much useless.

I normally look for old stock Elora/Heyco (never broken anything) Gedore and Stahlwille are too popular so prices never go silly low.

I was informed by dealers that Hazet in the UK market isn't doing the best and Hazet are panicking a little so the support for this market is non existent (So Ive been told)..

Never touched Halfords dont think I will same with the Clarke Pro stuff.

KingTony is the only other Taiwan brand, I got it so cheap it doesn't matter if it destroy itself.

Tekton Spanners Standard and Small both sets cost me only £25 on amazon warehouse deals because they fell off a shelf.

Toptul I cant justify the prices..
