Been using friends &/or works welders for years.

Work (used to be military) was industrial Miller machine, infinite adjustability, overkill for the bumpers, rocker gaurds, etc I used to make for my Jeep, but amazing to use, learn on.

Buddies have had Lincoln 180's and 175's from big box stores, always did what I needed them too, but sometimes had to "make them work".
Cold days in the garage I would only tack pieces on, as I couldn't get good penetration on thicker pieces when they were hovering around 0*. Or if I could I'd leave them near/over the heater to warm up before welding.

Yesterday, after searching, waiting, and saving, I found a 15-20 year old ESAB Power Compact 200. Very good shape, new liner in the whip, bunch of consumables, spare roll of wire, and a hand loading it into the back of the truck (bugar weighs close to if not 150lbs+)

Won't get to use it for another 2 months until we move. But here it is

Previous owner has had it for over 8 years, using it between a Miller 200 and a lincoln 175 or something along that size. Was downsizing before a move, didn't want to sell it, but was redundant between the other 2 heavier/lighter duty machines.

Freezing cold here, so just going to leave it in the garage until we move. Going to do some more research on cleaning it up, maybe replace ground clamp/cable depending on condition, clamp doesn't look that great. But can't wait to join metal with it soon enough.

Looks good. What's the green button for? A reset for?

I'm not exactly sure what the green button does yet. It has a small picture beside it, I "think" it may be for feeding a new roll of wire, instead of holding trigger.
More to research.

Not a bad machine! I would switch out the spool of wire because it looks rusty but nice find!

Spool on it is actually in very good shape, PO had been using it regularly, but I took pics with my phone, so what it looks like doesn't reflect what it really is.

PO added the red pad & clip to wipe any dust off the wire before it enter the whip... I like the idea, little preventative maintenance is good.
