We took a family trip to the State Museum of New Jersey in Trenton today. This 1,400lb. Fisher & Norris anvil was on display in an exhibit titled 'Pretty Big Things.' I took a rough measurement of 4.5-5' from horn to heel.

Ironically, my profession and my hobby came together in an unexpected way recently when the Army R&D organization I have supported for a long time, lately as a consultant, was merged into a new Army 3-Star command called Army Futures Command, and they adopted a motto, "Forging the Future", with this insignia (i.e., shoulder patch)! :)
