Is it a Speedcast or MinuteMount? If it's the old Speedcast, it probably will not work on a newer truck. The old Speedcast was the type where the blade is taken off and the headunit remains, while the MM system the whole deal comes off. I have heard that the Feds made it illegal to have a head remain on after sometime in the 90's. I REALLY doubt you can make a Speedcast frame fit on a newer truck without some modifications.

My son works for a distributor of snow plows (not Fisher). About the only thing that ever can be reused is the blade, pump and cylinder. While these are the major parts, buying the rest of the mounting brackets, at retail, usually stop all inquiries.

AFAIK, you get a new frame setup and you're good to go. However, sometimes I suspect you can't do that.

I have only owned western plows. The one poster is right that they have made the whole unit to come off for quite a few years. I think western does offer some adapters, that you can mix and match to make older style plows work on newer mounts.

I would guess that the vehicle lighting system is way different. For one you have daytime running lights, among other things.

At least when it comes to western, many of the newer control modules have just leads that actually hook up. There is very little splicing done, it is mostly plug and play. I do not know if all manufaturers are like that, but I would guess they are.

Thank you all for your input. I called two plow dealers locally and was told the part numbers are different on the two vehicles. I know one of them pretty well so when he has more time he can probably look more into it. He gave me a part number for the mounts which was a minute mount. I'm gonna check if I can buy anything for this old speedcast for a direct bolt on. If not maybe I can get dimensions off the minute mount parts to modify existing plow frame. What I prefer to do is fix the 1996 chevy so the plow can stay on it. It went off road into a ditch and apparently the clutch is shot and I don't know what else. Just got into garage and still packed with snow.
