I bought a used fishing bag and this tool was attached to the outside with a coiled tether. It is a hollow aluminum tube, tapered at one end, and threaded on the the small end. There is a stack of rubber O-rings included on the attachment screw. Any idea what this is used for?

Bingo, that's it! My thingy is exactly as shown in the attachment: same tool, coiled cord, clip, etc. Thanks for the help.

I'm not a fan of gadgets but damn the Wacky Weedless Worm catches some bass.
I got a three pack of wacky riggers and o-rings last December and gave two to my cousin and his son. His son says it's amazing. I was going to try mine out last Thursday. Rolled my kayak before I had the chance...

Now I'm a complete disaster in. 14 ft Deep Wide Jon Boat.

Fishing kayaks are usually open cockpit. Still can be sit on or sit in versions…….but…….open like a canoe. Some are stable enough to stand up while fishing.

I got all excited thinking we were looking at fishing tools. But wrong fishing tool.
Guess going fishing means something different for everyone. Since it is a tool forum I will say that I think the mills taper taps are the best, super sharp threads and nice knurling to grab onto with a wrench. :) When I tell folks I get paid to go fishing on the weekends they always seem to have a different idea than what I do.
