Fitted copper soft jaws

Had some left over copper from another project and thought some soft jaws for a 4" parker was in order.

I use drop from some .063 soft Aluminum sheet to make soft jaws. I just bend them over like you did but don't join the seams. I usually am able to get them to pinch tight enough to hold in place. I beat them up pretty fast, so I make them as disposables.

I would rather have some thicker sheet, but this is what I have.

I just wanted to confirm, did you solder up the sides where everything overlapped to keep them in the correct shape? I have some leftover .125" copper sheet. I am thinking about a similar project. Nice work!

I have some pieces of copper roof flashing and some scrap 1.5 inch copper DWV tubing.
The stuff airrj has sounds plenty thick! 1/8 inch!

Pretty close to .080
I have some removable ones on a 450 wilton that are about .060 that are a few decades old and are holding up fine.
I'm thinking the flashing is a little light, but if was all I had, I would use it in a second.
That 1/8" would be bulletproof.

I am fortunate to have a few vises, one dedicated for copper jaws.
Here is a crude set I made many moons ago, that are not soldered.
