Fitting a Face Shield

Hi all, if there anyone out there that regularly wears either a full face shield or a hard hat I need some advise on adjusting the fit so that the shield sits securely on my head and the band isn't down in my eye.

I recently bought a good quality face shield on which I can adjust both circumference and depth. Problem is that if I adjust the depth so that the band isn"t down in my eyes, the circumference band rides at a point where my skull slopes inward. When I tighten the circumference band it just pushes the shield off of my head, too loose and the shield is not secure.

How do others deal with this or do I just have a poorly shaped head?

The circumference band has a knob at the back, you push it in and then turn right or left to tighten or loosen. Release the knob to lock in the adjustment. Did I describe what you mean by ratchet type?

Sounds like you may be adjusting it wrong. The circumference adjustment should sit just above your neck and the depth should be adjusted to keep the front on your forehead. The band will be tilted to some extent and both should be set to keep the shield in place when raising or lowering but not tight enough to feel any pressure.
