I was given an older (30 years old) quincy QT-5 Compressor about 5 years ago. It always smoked a little out of crankcase, but was only used occasionally. Recently It started smoking a decent amount. I pulled the compressor apart to investigate and found the high pressure side cylinder wall is scored and the piston skirt is all messed up. Along with the piston bearing surface being messed up. The crank bearing has no damage that can be felt.
Quincy no longer sells .10 pistons and rings so I can't get the walls machined.
I also can't seem to find a used QT-5 pump or just parts in decent condition online. I don't want to spend 2 grand for a new pump.
Is my only option really to spend $500 for a new upper cylinder from Quincy, plus any other parts I need? Most likely ending up costing around 1k.
