Guys - these are two basement windows with the first one above leaking inside. I had the 2nd one fixed by a handyman who basically uses old white blinds to seal the cracks as a temporary solution and it’s worked quite well. I think obviously redoing both these windows the proper way i.e taking them out, reframing them and installing ack again would be ideal but can’t get any quotes below 2500 for 2 windows. Any thoughts about that price?

If not, what would be a right way of fixing them? Perhaps fixing up the stucco all around and caulking all the edges around the window?

Thanks

I've done a few basement windows by building up around the windows with 2x? and capping with aluminum. It kind of depends how easy it is on if the wall behind the stucco is concrete or wood.

Looks like your typical junk vinyl window and a bad install to boot. Needs flashing

They are not egress windows so i'd get thinner ones top to bottom so you can have it a few more inches off the ground.
You will most likely find rotten wood all around so you will be going back 2-4 inches all around most likely. I'd start with learning how to do a passable stucco job for the places you need to fix the framing. Also try and find a window with flashing built into it or the best posible method of flashing that top part further out then the window. I would not use basic flashing material thickness.
This is the reason that estimate is so high. gonna make a big hole in the side of the house.
While you are doing it out in some sleeves for those lines. Is that electrical ??

I'd want to see more inside & outside in person before I would suggest a repair. but there does appear to be a mess to deal with, not surprised someone came in at $2500 in todays market. It looks like there's a a lot of work to do it right
