Fixed it! Broken reeves delta drill press

It's not the prettiest repair but I was able to get this old girl working again. Picked it up for 100 buck with the hidden surprise of a former owner having tipped her over.







I want sure it'd still work but did a quick and dirty repair to test it out. So far so good.



I know alot of guys rag on these reeves drives but i couldn't justify a geared DP.

Congrats on a steal deal and for getting it back into service.

Reeves drive was the most cost-effective solution found last century for variable speed tech. That they all wear out/fail is the reason one can buy such a sturdy DP for cheap. They also get noisy as they wear.

Patch it as long as you can and then replace it with a 3-phase motor and VFD.
