Fixture table

Anybody out there build a fixture table? Been drooling over build pro and fireball tables but cant justify the $. Any recommendation for thickness, hole spacing, sides with holes? I have a mag drill with annular cutters. Probably not going to be able to get the top machined flat. Or need that amount of precision. Any tips and tricks that you have will be appreciated.

Most I see use 5/8" or 16MM holes on 2 or 4" centers. Would recommend at least 1/2" thick and bolted to frame if not using a tab/slot method.

Fireball tools did a good welding table comparison that you may find helpful in designing/building yours.

Blanchard ground, 5/8” holes on 4” centers. Roughly 4 x 6’ table.

2'x4' 5/8" A36 plate with 5/8" holes on 4" centers. Top is drilled and tapped on the bottom to bolt the top to the frame. Shimmed as necessary and used the bolts to pull it flat.
