FL720 Question

I bought a SO FL720 recently. I have two questions. One, how can I tell the age of the ratchet? It has the Black dust cap with the SO script. The Snap On logo on the handle is underlined. Second, the plate does not have any inscription on it. Normally the plate has instructions stamped in it that says "replace parts as needed" etc. Did they ever come with a plate without instructions? I took the ratchet apart and it was brand new inside. I want to rebuild this ratchet and install a 30 tooth 1/2" drive rebuild kit from a SF730A. Thanks in advance for your help.

Somebody has a chart that gives the age of the Snap-on tools. They will post it. I keep forgetting to copy the image to my Photobucket account.

Don't know exactly when those instructions started appearing on the cover plates. Late 80's, early 90's maybe. I have lots of old ratchets that have no text on them.

all of the ones that i have ever seen/rebuilt have had the replace worn parts message on them. now the really older ratchets were clean and smooth. some had the date code stamped on the inside of the plate.

The date stamp is usually between 'ON' and 'OFF'
