Flag Pole

I would like to buy a flag pole for our place. We are in a high wind area so I think one of the ones that can be lowered would be ideal. Any suggestions on where to get one, cost? Thanks

It seems like everywhere there is a "flag guy" that runs a small business out of his home. At least that's been my experience. Ask around locally.

I am a fan of the Uncommon Flagpoles. Maybe a little pricey but will last forever (around 30 years so far) with ours staying up year round 24x7. During hurricane Ike I neglected to lower it and remove the flags (US and Texas). The morning after the storm came through the entire pole was leaning but undamaged. The combination of wet ground from the rain and the 100+ mph winds caused the concrete base to tilt.

I have a recycled 24' bronze "spun" aluminum light pole with the line/pulley run inside. It is about 8-10" at base and 4-5" at top if I had to guess. Bolted to poured concrete base that sticks up about 30".

It's a bit involved, but pretty much windproof

I have a 20' Sunsetter flagpole that collapses down to 7'. I installed it in concrete in a corner of the sidewalk in a tricorne shape.

I looked at the uncommon flag pole and they are pricey for a 25' pole. I live
in NC if that helps. Is 20' what most people buy?

I had a 20' but decided 25' was better so gave the 20' to our daughter. We fly 4'x6' flags so the 25' works best.

We are pretty windy in So UT. I have a 25" Alum pole that has a 5" base and tapers up. Holds up very well in the wind. A neighbor down the street has gone thru two flag poles. One was a retractable pole. I see he has since taken it out of his lawn. This is the second flag pole I have had. My other one was a 3" 20' fiberglass that I had at my other house. I like the new Alum one better. It is stable in the wind and barely moves. Spend the extra money on a larger diameter pole and I think you will be happier in the long run.
