I am in the process of epoxy coating my 30 X 44 pole barn. The cure time on the pour is close to 2 months. I tried the etch the other night with poor results. I went with the recommended ratio but it feel short on my power troweled floor. At least I only tried it on part of the floor. I found a rental center that has a diamond grinder but then you have to edge it too. The more I read the worst the decision is becoming. Anyway, I have a question about flake. Say I do a 10 x 10 area then flake it. Does it matter if the flake that falls on the next section or should it be swept up first? thanks

Flake close to the edges, but not all the way to the edge. You don't want to roll the next section on and have flakes in your roller.

Once the second section is rolled out you can come back to the first section and throw flakes to complete it as you are flaking the second one, and so on.

You will want to sweep up any flakes that fall onto uncoated floor areas. You definitely do not want to get flakes on your roller as your rolling out your next section.
