Flakes as non-skid

Having read through a few threads about flakes and non-skid, I still have a question or two about a straight epoxy covering.

When a shop is completely empty with a freshly painted floor I can see how any uneven concrete or paint might be very visible. This makes a flaked floor look pretty good in comparison. However, after some use and being covered by cars, bikes, benches, and shelves, wonder if these imperfections will be noticed. I'm thinking the overall lighter solid grey floor would help with shop lighting, which is never good enough for old eyes. Might even reflect some light under a vehicle.

Someone mentioned that using grey flakes on grey paint would leave some non-skid texture that was easy to clean, and uneven flake distribution would not show as much. My question is about rollers on creepers, stools and other equipment. Will this uncovered flake texture cause roller jam? What are these flakes made of?
