40x74 slab poured in 70 degree weather. Next day had some small surface cracking and flaking. What to do?

Was the concrete really wet and soupy when they placed it ? Maybe too much water added?

Pictures would help but it's pretty tough to diagnose slab surface defects from afar. There are any number of factors related to the concrete, weather and finishing process that could be to blame. I agree with Cobbler, the first step is to call your contractor assuming there is one.

Small hairline cracks spiderwebbing over the surface is called crazing and isn't unusual and isn't anything to be too worried about but the 'flaking' might be a cause for concern.

In the meantime, you are hopefully curing your slab to ensure maximum strength gain especially on the surface. Kindly keep us informed please.

We had a 36x36 poured in front of the shop and when they shot in the grade which by the way my son and I had perfect grade they were short about a yard and guess what the driver brought a rinse load! needless to say 2 years go by and that corner is flaking badly(to much water):lol_hitti
